Hardening my roots for the winter, keeping
warmth for myself and other animals on the pursuit
for a home to nest their families annually, to grow
their young so they can go out and get some

Making it warm as hell inside aside from the fact
it's colder than Antarctica outside and the pressure
applied from mother nature is making it tough
and I don't know if my biological processes will
be enough

of course they are! Mother nature made me this
way so it makes sense that I'll be able to survive
any day, even if all my leaves go to the grave
they are reborn every year so there's nothing to fear

The wind remains frigid as it drops to single digits
the coldest winter that anyone would witness
snow so thick it'd be hard to gain vision
as we all hibernate and rest from our daily missions
