A Captain’s Pride

“I will not give up on our ship!” he said.
“She is my pride and joy!” his voice then fled.
A captain goes down with the ship, that’s a given.
He says goodbye, completing his mission.
“I understand it must be hard” he said
“This is something I must do” he expressed
The ship goes down with captain in its wake
The ship then reveals this man’s horrid fate.
“I love this ship!” he said “She was my pride!”
His last words were “it is with her I die!”
The ship fought valiantly against the storm
There, the seas roars, the waves started to swarm
The ship cracks, the mast rips, he looked on
As the seas take what’s left of the ship…nothing.
